Cranes hoisted boxes of solar panels onto the roof of Libbie Mill Library. Henrico County has partnered with Sun Tribe Solar to design and install the rooftop solar system, which the company will maintain and use to sell electricity back to the county at a reduced rate. A similar system is planned at the Henrico County Mental Health and Developmental Services East Center. Work at both sites is expected to be finished by December 2019. The solar power is expected to save county taxpayers more than $400,000 over the next 25 years.
