Title: The Impact of Wind Energy in Nebraska
Topic: Wind energy in Nebraska
Specific Purpose Statement: To inform the audience about wind energy in Nebraska.
Thesis Statement: One of the many ways Nebraskan’s get their energy is through the wind.

Introduction: As a kid, while taking long road trips sometimes you would just stare out the window hoping time would fly by as you were traveling somewhere in Nebraska. You may recall seeing those huge white pillars spinning, almost looking like a huge fan. You may have questioned your mom or your dad wondering what these huge white “fans” were. They may have told you a simple answer such as they are a Wind Turbine used to create energy. One of the many ways Nebraskan’s get their energy is through the wind. How wind energy works, how it affects Nebraska and the many ways wind energy is more beneficial than other energy sources proves that Wind Energy is an Environmental issue we need to take advantage of.

(Transition)- Although wind turbines were not invented in Nebraska, wind energy affects Nebraska tremendously.

(Transition)- There are many ways to create energy, but one wind energy is a safe, environmental way to create our world’s energy.
III. Wind energy is more beneficial than other energy sources
A. Green Energy (Weber, Wohland, Reyers, Moemken, Hoppe, Pinto, & Witthaut, 2018)
1. Good for Environment (Armentrout & Armentrout, 2009)

B. Fossil Fuels-nonrenewable
a. Unstainable- cannot be made again.

a. will make their money back in a matter of time

Conclusion: Wind energy is a renewable source that we as humans can take advantage of. Now when you are traveling the roads and see those big, white propellers, you are able to understand how beneficial those wind turbines are. By using wind, which occurs every day in Nebraska, we can take advantage of the cheap cost to create energy. How wind energy works, how it affects Nebraska and the many ways wind energy is more beneficial than other energy sources proves that Wind Energy is an environmental issue we need to take advantage of. Wind energy is a great piece of technology that will forever benefit us humans.
